Accreditation
- Accredited by the Romanian agency for quality assurance in higher education (ARACIS).
- Recognized by the anabin system in Germany with the top status “H+” (which means it is considered a recognized institution under German quality evaluation for foreign credentials).
- The English-language human medicine program has undergone accreditation stages and is aligned with EU professional recognition norms (Annex V of the EU Professional Recognition Directive) so that the degree is equivalent in EU member states to other medical qualifications (like the German Staatsexamen).
- Listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS), and has accreditation relevant for WFME (World Federation for Medical Education) requirements.
- Uses ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System); the program is 360 ECTS over six years.
Rankings
- It is a new medical campus; so far, it does not appear in major global rankings like QS, THE, etc., specifically under “UMCH” as yet.
- It is part of UMFST Târgu Mureș (Romania), which has more established reputation in medical education in the EU; UMCH leverages that connection.
- Because of its newness, prestige is partly based on recognition & accreditation rather than long ranking history.
